Classic Randomizers
Privacy Policy
Who we are
Classic Randomizers ("the app") is developed and published by OneMacStudio, a sole developer based in Tamil Nadu, India. OneMacStudio is the data controller for the limited data described in this policy.
For any question about privacy, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact hello@onemacstudio.in. This is also the address for grievance redressal under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.
What stays on your device
The app's tools — the wheel, dice, coin, random pick, team split and the tiny games — run entirely on your device. The following is written to your phone's private app storage and is never transmitted to us:
- Wheels, pick lists and team lists you create, including every item in them
- Your chosen coin skin, dice colour and theme
- Sound and vibration preferences
- Game records, streaks and match settings
- An internal counter used to decide how often an ad is shown
We cannot see any of it. If you type a friend's name into a wheel, that name stays on your phone and, on iOS, in your own iCloud as described below. It never reaches us.
Device backups
Android and iOS both back up app data as a standard part of the operating system, so that your things return when you reinstall an app or set up a new phone. This app allows that, because losing every wheel you built to a new handset would be the worse outcome.
That backup goes to your own Google or Apple account, under that company's terms and encryption. It does not come to us, and we cannot read it or ask for it. Whether it happens at all is a setting on your device, controlled by you — turn the platform's backup off and nothing is copied anywhere.
iCloud copy on iOS
On iPhone, the app also saves two things to your own iCloud, using Apple's iCloud key-value storage: the wheels, pick lists and team lists you create, and your game records and streaks. This is what brings them back when you delete and reinstall the app or move to a new iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account. The game records are counts of wins, losses and streaks; they contain nothing you typed. Your theme, sound, vibration, coin skin and dice colour choices are not included.
That copy sits in your iCloud account, under Apple's terms and encryption. It does not come to us, and we cannot read it, change it or ask for it. It happens only while you are signed in to iCloud. Which apps may use iCloud is yours to control in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud; with iCloud off for this app, or signed out, everything stays on the phone only. The Android app does not do this.
What is collected, and by whom
Each service below collects data under its own privacy policy, and each is listed here with what it collects and why. Ads are the same on both platforms. Crash reporting and payments differ, and each is described per platform.
Google AdMob — advertising
The free version of the app shows occasional full-screen ads. To serve them, Google AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier — the Google Advertising ID on Android, or the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) on iOS — along with device and network information (such as device model, operating system version, language and IP address) and data about ads shown and interacted with. This is used to deliver and measure ads and to detect fraud.
We never receive this data. We see only anonymous, aggregated earnings figures.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any ad is requested, using Google's User Messaging Platform. You can change that choice at any time from Settings → Privacy Options inside the app.
On iOS, Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt asks separately for permission to use the IDFA. If you decline, the app works exactly as before and still shows ads — they are simply not personalised. You can change that choice at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
On Android, outside the regions named above you can limit ad personalisation from your device's own Google settings, and reset or delete your advertising ID there.
Google's practices: How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Crash reporting — Firebase Crashlytics on Android
The Android app uses Firebase Crashlytics. The iOS app does not include it. When the Android app crashes, a report is sent so the fault can be fixed. It contains the technical state of the app at the moment of the crash: a stack trace, device model, operating system version, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier. It does not contain your lists, your wheels, or anything you have typed.
We do receive these reports, and read them to fix bugs. They are used for no other purpose. Google retains Crashlytics crash data for a limited period (currently 90 days) and then deletes it.
On iOS there is no crash-reporting service in the app. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may pass us crash logs and usage statistics that it has already made anonymous. They do not identify you, and they never contain your lists or anything you typed. Turning that iOS setting off stops it.
Optional purchases — Google Play Billing or the App Store
If you buy the one-time upgrade, or on iOS the smaller one-time purchase that only removes ads, the purchase is processed entirely by the store you bought it from: Google Play on Android, or Apple's App Store on iOS. We never see or store your card number, bank details or billing address. We receive only a record that a purchase was made, which is what allows the app to restore your purchase on a new device.
What we never collect
The app does not ask for, and we do not collect, your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, files, precise location, or any account credentials. The app requests no runtime permissions to gather personal data.
Sharing
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the services named above — Google, and Apple where you use the iOS app — each acting for the purpose described. The iCloud copy on iOS is not a sharing by us: it goes from your iPhone to your own Apple Account. There is no advertising network, analytics broker or data partner beyond those.
The app also has a Share button. When you use it, you choose an app to send a result to and the content leaves on your instruction — after that it is handled by whichever app you picked, under its rules rather than ours. Nothing is ever shared without you tapping Share.
Legal basis for processing
Where the UK or EU General Data Protection Regulation applies: personalised advertising is processed on the basis of your consent, given or refused through the in-app consent form and withdrawable at any time from Settings → Privacy Options. Crash reporting and purchase processing rest on our legitimate interest in keeping the app working and in fulfilling a purchase you have made.
Where India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies, processing is carried out for the purposes notified in this policy and, for advertising in regions where consent is collected, on the basis of that consent.
How long data is kept
- On-device data is kept until you delete it. Removing a wheel or list deletes it immediately; clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app removes all of it at once. The only copies that can outlive that are your own device backup and, on iOS, the copy in your own iCloud, both described above and both yours to keep or delete. Removing a wheel or list in the app removes it from the iCloud copy too.
- Crash reports are retained by Google for a limited period (currently 90 days) and then deleted automatically.
- Advertising data is retained by Google under its own retention policy, which you can read at the link above.
- Purchase records are held by Google Play or Apple, as applicable, for as long as required for billing, tax and refund purposes.
Security
We operate no servers, which removes an entire category of risk: there is no database of ours to breach. Data written by the app is stored in the operating system's private per-app storage — on Android and on iOS alike — which other apps on the device cannot read. The iCloud copy on iOS is held in your Apple Account and protected by Apple. Data sent to the services above travels over encrypted connections and is protected by their own security measures.
Your rights
Because almost nothing personal ever reaches us, most rights are exercised directly on your device, and immediately:
- Erase everything: uninstall the app. On Android you can also clear its storage from Android Settings. On iOS, delete your wheels and lists in the app first if you want them gone from your own iCloud as well; that iCloud storage belongs to your Apple Account, and we cannot reach it to delete it for you.
- Withdraw consent for personalised ads: Settings → Privacy Options in the app; on Android also your device's Google ad settings, on iOS also Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Reset or withhold your advertising identifier: on Android, Settings → Google → Ads. On iOS, declining tracking stops the IDFA being shared at all.
Beyond that, depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, to data portability, to nominate another person to exercise your rights, and to complain to your data protection authority. Write to hello@onemacstudio.in and we will respond within 30 days. Where data sits with Google rather than with us, we will tell you plainly and point you to the right place.
Children
The app is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13, which is also how it is declared to the app stores. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Where the law of your country sets a higher age for consenting to data processing, anyone below that age should use the app with a parent's or guardian's permission. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the app, write to us and we will act on it.
International transfers
The Google services described above are operated globally, so data they collect may be processed on servers outside your country, including in the United States, under the safeguards set out in Google's own privacy policy. On iOS, the copy in your own iCloud is stored by Apple, which may likewise use servers outside your country, under Apple's privacy policy.
Changes to this policy
If what the app collects changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top is updated. The copy of this policy shown inside the app is updated with the app itself, so this page is always the current one. Where a change is about to arrive in an app update, this page may describe it a few days before that update reaches your phone.
